Glitter Beach is the unique vision of Victoria Lee, who created this concept whilst recovering from radical major surgery, having survived against odds of less than 4%, after being given only 1 month to live with Crohns Disease. Whilst bedridden, with an open wound for 11 and a half months, Victoria channelled her energies into examining ways to help others with inflammatory bowel disease & stomas and the concept that is Glitter Beach was born.
Disgusted by the lack of dignity, present swimwear offered patients, Victoria stepped outside the box, questioning why patients were forced to wear different beachwear from everyone else, she designed a unique belt device which could be clipped inside the swimwear holding the stoma bag in place, filed for patent, designed her own glamourous range of beachwear and swimwear for men, women and children.
"What patients wanted most was to look beautiful, and normal like everyone else"
To Victoria’s delight, not only Ostomy patients wanted her swimwear, but women of all ages, blown away, by the fabulous fabrics, and flattering styles, followed to her astonishment by men who loved her innovative designs, and children, who adored the sparkling fabrics.
Not merely a range of beach wear, Glitter Beach sales will help, the Nacc, MacNacc, Ilieostomy, Colostomy, and Urostomy Asscociations, and local hospitals directly with stoma care, inflammatory bowel disease via donations from profits, whilst also supplying an on line community giving self help support, dietary information and a host of other services, and raising awareness of inflammatory bowel disease and bowel cancer.

With over 100,000 stoma patients in the UK and numbers rising by 15% per annum, this is rapidly growing market, on an international global figure of 8.2million stoma patients. In July 2010, Glitter Beach launched on the web, later in the year in Barbados, hosted by the British High Commissioner at his official residence, onto the world market, and in August, at the MODA Worldwide Swimwear show in Birmingham, Glitter Beach was chosen from 800 companies to grace the catwalk with Calvin Kline, Red or Dead and Ted Baker, which has stimulated global interest in the collection.
Victoria firmly believes everyone needs glamour in their lives, her range is not only visually stunning, but inspirational and ground breaking, putting UK swimwear firmly on the high fashion spectrum, delivering glamour and dignity.
