Victoria Lee, who suffered multiple organ failure as a result of Crohn's disease, has launched her own business selling beachwear specifically designed for people with colostomy bags.
Now the mum-of-one has scooped first prize in the Bright Business Idea competition.
Victoria beat stiff competition from almost 200 other new-start business owners to walk away with the grand prize of £30,000 worth of business support, which includes £5,000 in cash.
The 54-year-old Lochwinnoch woman said:
“I can’t believe I’ve won. Winning the Bright Business Idea competition will really help me launch my business with a bang.
“When I was given less than a month to live, I knew I had two options – I could either give up or keep on fighting."
“I don’t know how to lie down and play dead, so I decided to find a way to positively channel my energy."
“After recovering from serious surgery, I decided to launch my own firm, Glitter Beach.”
